Josée Lamothe became interested in boccia in 2005 after attending her first boccia event at Défi Sportif in Montreal. Lamothe wanted to stay busy with a sport and found that boccia was a perfect fit for her. Lamothe joined Team Québec in 2007 and has never looked back. What she enjoys most about boccia are the competitions where she is able to meet other athletes which motivates her to compete at a higher level. Most recently she competed at the 2018 Défi Sportif AlterGo National Open where she won a gold medal. Her overarching goal is to one day participate at the Paralympic Games.
