Joëlle Guérette was first inspired to try boccia through a friend who was passionate about the sport. She soon discovered that she had a knack for the game and has achieved several important wins thus far. Notably, she was a part of the 2019 BISFed Montreal Boccia World Open pairs group that won a silver. She is motivated to play because it keeps her physically and mentally stimulated. In her spare time, Guérette helps her friend Yves Gauthier gather funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada, a cause that she is passionate about.
