Boccia Canada Staff

Ed Richardson

He originally became involved in boccia in 2003 in the role of performance partner/coach for his son Brock. Hehelped to coach a couple local athletes and soon after was introduced to Amanda Fader of OCPSA. From 2006 until present he was the Ontario Head Coach. He met Mario Delisle, Head Coach of the National Team at the time, at the 2006 Canadian Boccia Championships which he found was a great connection to have and eventually Mario gave Ed a coaching position on the national program in 2009. His main role with the national program has been in the development of the BC1 and 2 athletes. He took some time off from the national program from 2015 until 2018 having to devote more time to my full-time job yard foreman at a large building supply wholesaler. Ed explains that “after missing the excitement and challenge of the National Boccia Program I spoke with Mario and found him very welcoming to have me back. I am back and looking forward in helping to develop the athletes to achieve their very best on the international stage of competition. Play with confidence is what I like to say!
