Liza had been playing boccia for a decade, when she had medical challenges that forced her to stop. She returned back to the provincial scene in 2023 and then received her first bronze medal at the 2024 Canadian Boccia Championships. It was her first national competition experience ever and she is determined now to make her mark on the international circuit too. In 2025 she finds herself on the National Boccia Team as the sole female BC1 player.
