"Thanks to Boccia Canada I was able to get in contact with staff in Chile prior to the Panamerican Games / Parapan American Games and got the ball rolling earlier in the year so I could help out in a bigger role than I would've had if I just went as a general volunteer. I had an incredible time getting to meet the boccia coordinators, international officials, and national officials in person at these games. I spent a big chunk of time with the boccia folks and learned a lot.

Being from born and raised in Chile, it was definitely surreal to come back home and be involved in boccia. Having moved to Canada almost 20 years ago, most of my life has now been in Canada. It's definitely cool to see Chile being put on the map in the sport internationally. During the games, I saw that the sport of boccia is growing as a lot of their national referees were certified this year and are still learning the ropes, which makes me proud of my country. There's still a lot to be done, but in a country where accessibility is a big issue, the boccia folks are doing a good job and I would love to lend a hand again whenever I visit next!" 🤗
