Levine dominates competition on day three of Boccia World Open

Poznan, Poland (June 19, 2015) – Canada’s BC4s showed no mercy on day three of the Boccia World Open in Poznan, Poland with Montreal’s Alison Levine securing two wins, World Number One Marco Dispaltro cruising to an 11-0 victory over Ercileide Silva of Brazil. Caroline Vietnieks begins her pool play tomorrow.

Levine, known for her strength and decision making skills on the court, began her day with a match against Macao’s Lou Ut Ieng, taking the game with a score of 10-3. She went on to beat Russia’s Sergey Safin in a close match of 3-1. Of the day, Levine says, “the first day of individual competition went very well. Two wins and no losses. A big game tomorrow against Brazil but I know if I maintain my focus and I play to the extent I know I’m capable, I’ll be able to make it to the elimination round.”

Pleased BC4 coach César Nicolai says, “three games and three wins. As a coach, what else can you ask for? An excellent first day of competition but there’s still work to be done. Alison and Marco must win their games tomorrow to ensure a place in the quarter finals. For Caroline, everything rests on a match tomorrow morning as well as one in the afternoon. I hope to see all three perform to their best!”
