Risks Starting to Pay Off for Iulian Ciobanu
Iulian Ciobanu’s family packed their bags and moved from Moldova to Canada in 2010. As a person living with a disability, Ciobanu didn’t feel that he had the same opportunities to build a family and career in Moldova. He also felt that Canada would be more stable economically, politically and socially. From 2010 to 2014 Ciobanu settled in with his wife Corina and daughters, Alexandra and Eleonora while simultaneously learning French and English as a Québec resident.
Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association Awards $28,000 in Grants to Support Boccia Development
Twelve organizations across Canada will receive a total of $28,000 in grants from the Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association through the 2019-20 Provincial Development grant program.

Marco Dispaltro (Saint-Jérôme, QC) and Iulian Ciobanu (Montréal, QC) both played Colombians in the gold and bronze medal games on day three of the boccia action at the 2019 Lima Parapan Games.
