Head Coach César Nicolaï is excited to support this group of athletes. “I am very proud of this new Canadian boccia team. It embodies a strong balance between experience and youth, which is essential for building the future of the program. This new direction reflects our desire to constantly evolve in order to remain competitive on the international stage. The entire coaching team is looking forward to working with all the athletes who make up this group in 2026.”

Alison Levine still relishes being part of the team. “I still feel as honoured and privileged to represent my country today as I was at my first ever international competition. I’m excited to be on the team, and with my role becoming more of a mentor, I’m able to provide feedback and help everyone through the program. I’m super happy that Iulian and I have our place in the World Championships. I’m thankful that I’m at the point in my life that although I may not be physically who I was many years ago, I’m still able to compete and more importantly, enjoy what I do every day.”

Kyle Scott indicates his excitement at joining the team. “It is a great privilege to be part of the National Team. I came into this sport three years ago, not knowing where this journey would take me. Being on the Espoir team gave me a brief experience of what I needed to do to compete at the highest level. I worked very hard with my coaches this year to improve my game technically and mentally. I am extremely excited to represent my country internationally and want to keep improving. This year, my goal is to win my first individual match with the national team and aim for a medal individually and in Teams. I came a long way in my Boccia career, but I am far from having achieved everything I set out to do!”

The team will start their training following a period of respite over the holidays. The Espoir team will be announced in January 2026.
