CCPSA/Boccia Canada Announces 2026 Canadian Boccia Championships in Richmond, British Columbia

Ottawa, ON – The Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association, Boccia Canada is proud to announce that, in partnership with SportAbility BC, the 2026 Canadian Boccia Championships will be held at the Richmond Olympic Oval in Richmond, British Columbia, from September 30 to October 4, 2026.

The national championships will bring together the country’s top boccia athletes to compete for Canadian titles in a high-performance, athlete-centred environment.

“We are pleased to partner with SportAbility BC to bring the 2026 Canadian Boccia Championships to British Columbia,” said Martin Richard, Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association. “British Columbia has a strong legacy within the sport of boccia, and hosting the Championships at the Richmond Olympic Oval provides an exceptional platform for our athletes to compete at the highest national level. Our focus is to deliver a professionally executed, high-performance competition environment that supports excellence on the field of play, while strengthening connections across the boccia community and creating meaningful, lasting experiences for all involved. Importantly, these Championships also provide an opportunity to inspire the next generation of athletes, giving young participants and emerging players the chance to witness elite performances and see what is possible through continued commitment to sport.”

The Richmond Olympic Oval, a world-class sport venue with a proven history of hosting major national and international events, will provide an ideal stage for Canada’s premier boccia competition.

“We’re thrilled to bring this event back to the Richmond Olympic Oval and to work alongside Boccia Canada, the Richmond Oval, and Richmond Sport Hosting to make it a memorable experience for all involved,” adds Donna Cumming, Executive Director of SportAbility BC. “This championship is an exciting opportunity to elevate awareness of boccia across our communities and inspire new participants to discover the sport. We look forward building a legacy that strengthens pathways for athletes at every level and deepens the roots of boccia in British Columbia.”

The 2026 Canadian Boccia Championships will serve as a key milestone within the national competition pathway, supporting athlete development and strengthening Canada’s presence in high-performance boccia.
